Fact Sheet for Landholders

The Shire of Narrogin and its neighbours are the site of potential renewable energy developments (Wind, Solar, and Battery Storage) because of the proximity to power infrastructure and distribution networks in Collie as the State seeks to meet its renewable energy targets with cessation of coal by 2030. Several wind farm projects have been announced in the Shire, with dedicated or additional solar, and Battery Storage (BESS) components, with more potentially into the future.

The installation of wind turbines and or solar requires the agreement of the landowner for access. The Queensland Farmers Federation and Commonwealth Governments have produced comprehensive guides for landowners considering entering into an agreement with a renewable energy company (links below).
