Have Your Say: New Off-Leash Dog Exercise Area!

Published on Wednesday, 11 September 2024 at 9:16:53 AM

We value the input of all residents and are currently seeking feedback on the proposal to establish an enclosed off-leash dog exercise area within the Shire of Narrogin. As the number of dog owners in our community continues to grow, there has been increasing demand for a safe, dedicated space where dogs can exercise freely.

The Council has identified two preferred sites for this facility:

  • Former Railway Tennis Courts, Reserve 49048 (Lot 1721) on Hale Street; and
  • McKenzie Park, located between Jersey Street and Ensign Street.

Both locations offer significant benefits, including ample space, existing infrastructure, and accessibility. The proposed dog exercise area will be a fully fenced, secure site of 800 m² with a 1.2 to 1.5-metre-high meshed fence, providing a safe environment for both dogs and their owners.

Details on the benefits of a dog park are available here.
