The Shire of Narrogin, in response to a request from the Highbury District Community Council, proposes to rename two sections of parkland located on the corner of Burley and Wilson Streets, where the war memorial and playground are situated.

Highbury Memorial Park: The section of the park where the war memorial is located is proposed to be renamed as Highbury Memorial Park, in honour of the local community's service and remembrance.

Wilbur Park: The section with the playground equipment adjacent to the Highbury Tennis Courts is proposed to retain the name Wilbur Park, celebrating its recreational use for families and children.

Subject to there being no adverse submissions, the Shire will apply to the State’s Geographic Names Committee for final approval.

The Shire invites community comments or submissions by 21 November 2024. Please send feedback to enquiries@narrogin.wa.gov.au. For additional information, contact our Executive Support Team at 08 9890 0900.
